Jighansha was a Bengali movie released in 1951 and was adapted from Western literature. It was based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Hound of Baskervilles. The word 'Jighansha' means bloodlust. Here is a great review of this movie.

This is a great Hindi comedy movie starring one of the most talented actors of all times Sanjiv Kumar. The word 'Angoor' means grape. It is a story of two identical twins born of well-to-do parents and who get separated at birth. They both have servants (played by Deven Varma) who are also identical twins. The confusion that arises due to mistaken identities is hilarious and drives this movie. Don't miss this.

This was a bold movie and one of the few to depict interracial marriages in a positive. It became a classic and is a must watch. In 2017 (on its 50th anniversary), the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"

No discussion on Indian movies is complete without mentioning Uttam Kumar,. He was an institution in himself and a university of acting. He was one of India's greatest actors who acted primarily in Bengali movies though he also acted in some notable Hindi movies such as 'Kitaab', etc. Hopefully his movies are now available with English subtitles and if they are, don't miss. He passed away in 1980 but till no one has been able to match him. Bengali cinema is truly poor without this great actor. ...  more

An actor, by playing a variety of roles, can live many lives in one lifetime. This also gives them an opportunity to develop a profound sense of detachment which is so necessary for spiritual growth. Sadly, most actors do not use this opportunity and succumb to the trappings of money, fame and glamour instead of becoming detached from them.
